What Is 2nd Family?
A family-owned business, 2nd Family began as a result of our own experience in searching for in-home care for our grandmother. We discovered first-hand that there was a huge void between the level of care available and the level of care that we wanted for our own loved one. It was frustrating and emotionally draining for our family. Having gone through the process of trying to find someone to care for our grandmother, cousins Chad Tracey and Josh Markland immediately felt compelled to fill that void and help others dealing with similar situations by offering our clients a more personalized, organized, and transparent senior care experience.
As a 2nd Family owner, you're running a home care agency that matches qualified caregivers with seniors who need support to stay independent. Your main role is building relationships with families, managing your care team, and ensuring consistently excellent service delivery. Day-to-day operations involve screening and hiring caregivers, coordinating care schedules, maintaining client relationships, and managing the back-office systems that keep everything running smoothly. Revenue comes from ongoing hourly care services, typically ranging from a few hours per week to 24/7 care arrangements. While this is a home-based business, success depends on being visible in your community. You'll spend time networking with medical professionals, senior living facilities, and community organizations to build referral partnerships. The business model is built on recurring revenue from long-term client relationships.
